Just as it encouraged and financially supported solar panel development in the past, the German government is now trying to boost energy storage via batteries.
Assistance will come in the form of loans (covering about 30% of the cost of the battery) to be provided to homes and small businesses which have a small solar system installed (< 30 KW). The investment is to ensure that the country has a renewable future and achieves energy independence.
