Details of the conference:
During the talk in Usurbil, which was attended by around 50 people, the leading expert in the sector, Jorge Morales de Labra, talked to us about the situation of renewable energy and its reward with the new framework designed by the Government.
While the situation depicted was, on the one hand, realistic and somber, it also underlined that renewable energy is unavoidable and what we are seeing are delay tactics so that the big companies don’t lose their huge slice of the energy market pie.
The current regulatory framework has served to highlight the risks of self-supply if not declared, ill-conceived fines, and the risk of those cases where self-supply is declared but becomes unviable when the back-up toll is finally applied.
Our director, Santi Ochoa de Eribe, then proceeded to describe the current strategy of the cooperative, how we are looking into the option of carrying out new projects, despite the present situation, or even rescuing existing plants which are found in our territory.
An interesting day which will hopefully encourage more people to join forces with GoiEner.
