On past October 8th, the IV. Meeting of Cooperatives of Renewable Energies was held in Toledo, organized by UNCCUER (National Union of Cooperatives of Consumers and Users of Renewable Energies) with the cooperative Econactiva like host. There participated actively Goiener, as it has been doing in previous meetings.
On this occasion, the different working groups presented their progress since the last meeting in Soria in which UNCCUER was created. It was noted that the efforts of each cooperative to collaborate within UNCCUER are bearing fruit and that there are already 17 cooperatives.

On the eve of the meeting, Goiener participated with a presentation at the Green Energy, Social Economy and Citizenship Conference, where Santi Ochoa explained the relationship between the electricity market and poverty.
History of previous meetings:
The first of the meetings, on June 6th 2015 took place in Valladolid, coinciding with the start-up party of the local cooperative Energética. There we had the opportunity to know the reality of most renewable electric cooperatives: opportunities of the moment, previous experience and common difficulties. We recognized each other in the ways and motivations with which we work. We also glimpsed the diversity that enriches us and we saw the need to organize ourselves to minimize efforts and magnify effects.
The good taste that left the meeting led to the following in Madrid on September 26th of the same year by the local cooperative La Corriente. It was already clear that we needed greater cohesion to face common fronts such as legislation on renewables, self-consumption, etc. It was decided to give legal form to all renewable cooperatives and chose the Union of Cooperatives of Consumers and Users. There we listed the topics of greatest interest to start working with them.
With this agenda, and the bylaws of the Union of Cooperatives agreed, III. Encounter of Cooperatives took place in Soria where the union was formed with 4 cooperatives of startup, and among them, Goiener.
