5.- Where?
1.- Why become a member of GoiEner?
The sum of lots of people can produce an unstoppable force.
GoiEner´s objective is to become a nonprofit cooperative which brings together thousands of people with the desire to change the current energy system, and to work to achieve a model which is based on 100% renewable energy.
We don’t have to wait for the governments to do it for us – we can do it ourselves if we want to.
If every one of us requests that green energy be supplied to our homes, they will have to listen to us eventually.
If every one of us invests a small amount, it is possible to start up projects which generate renewable energy (solar, biogas, wind power, etc.). All this is achieved in an independent way, without depending on anything but our own will.
GoiEner wants to be a tool which allows us to move towards the future we want, and we can start that journey right now.
Why become a member of GoiEner?
1. Because everyone can participate and have access to renewable energy.
2. Because you can invest directly in renewable energy projects to develop a sustainable economy.
3. Because you are part-owner and all the members have the same vote, with a single returnable contribution of €100.
4. To gain independence from the big energy companies.
5. To enjoy a better service, with truthful information and good customer care.
6. Because it is an optimal business model:
a. Without advertising expenses.
b. Without big salaries for executives.
c. With modest and efficient offices.
d. With management and communication via the website.
7. To create a social movement in favour of renewable energy and citizen participation.
8. Because these aren´t only words: with GoiEner we go one step further and take action, consuming responsibly and promoting direct investments to generate good energy.
2.- Why sign up with GoiEner?
To consume electricity certified as being renewable in origin, without extra expenses. Our clean energy isn´t any more expensive than “dirty” energy.
Because our objective is to generate as much renewable energy as our partners need.
Because you can be changed to GoiEner by following a few simple instructions on our website, without the need for any technical changes to your existing installation.
To receive a better service – one which transparent and that works for you, in benefit of the members.
To consume responsibly and change the current energy system.
3.- Where does our electricity come from?
GoiEner is starting to market green electricity by using a system which certifies its origin. These guarantees are provided by the National Energy Commission (CNE), the regulating body for Spain.
The process therefore follows the model outlined below:
GoiEner approaches the market to buy the electrical energy that our partners need (as do the other energy suppliers.)
At the same time, the cooperative is provided with the certificates of origin, which guarantee that the energy produced is exclusively renewable.
To be considered 100% renewable, the green certificates must guarantee that 100% of the energy consumed by our partner-consumers has been generated by a renewable energy facility.
Therefore, GoiEner will use the existing electrical network and a fee will be paid to do so. This amount will be reflected in the partner´s bill.
In parallel to this process, GoiEner is working to develop small projects of energy production in four sectors: biogas, solar, wind power and biomass.
Our objective is to use the new projects owned by GoiEner to cover 100% of our partners’ needs for electricity.
This is the great advantage of the model we propose: any user, wherever he lives, can consume green energy. Between all of us, we increase the generation of renewable energy thanks to the projects owned by the cooperative.
4.- Rates
As we are not marketing electricity until April 2013, we have yet to establish any rates. This is because they are pending revision and approval in assembly. However, the maximum price of the rates will be the TUR (Tarifa de Último Recurso, a rate fixed by the Spanish Government), and are likely to be even less.
4.- Where?
We are sorry, but for the moment, GoiEner can not offer electrical energy supply outside of peninsular Spain.
